Our display case now holds new bangles in 22-carat gold. There are slim bangles that look good worn in a stack, and wider models with engraving or a pattern.
What does 22 carat mean?
22 carat, also called 916 gold, means 91.6 per cent of the metal is pure gold. The rest is usually copper or silver. That share makes the gold a little harder, otherwise it would bend quickly in everyday wear. Fine gold is something else: that is 24 carat (999).
Compared with 585 or 750 gold, 22 carat is noticeably more yellow and richer in colour. It is also softer. Scratches and small dents appear sooner, but polishing removes them again.
The models
- Slim bangles: plain or lightly patterned, easy to combine with other bracelets.
- Wide bangles: engraved or embossed, usually worn on their own.
You can see which models are in stock under Jewellery on our website or in the shop. We are happy to tell you the weight and price of each piece.
The right size
A bangle does not open like a bracelet. It has to slip over your hand without sitting too loosely on the wrist. The easiest way is to try a few sizes with us.
