How to measure

The German ring size is the inner circumference of the ring in millimetres. Size 54 means 54 mm all the way round on the inside.

  • With a ring that fits

Place a well fitting ring on a ruler and measure the inner diameter from edge to edge. Enter the value in the calculator under “Diameter”.

  • With a strip of paper

Wrap a narrow strip of paper snugly, but not too tight, around the widest part of your finger. Mark where it overlaps and measure the length up to the mark. That is your circumference.

  • In our shop

Our ring gauge in the shop is the most accurate. Just drop by, no appointment needed. For wedding rings we measure both partners.

  • Getting it right

Measure in the evening: fingers are slightly thicker than in the morning and thinner when cold. The ring has to slide over the knuckle. If your knuckle is wide, choose the larger size. Wide rings from about 6 mm feel tighter: go one size up. If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one.
